PHYSICAL OBJECTS THAT OBJECTIFY MY IDENTITY. ABOUT THE SOCIAL LIFE OF TOYS. (EXHIBITION OF MATERIAL OBJECTS)

Łucja Lange

We all had them. We all wanted them, desired them, spent time and played with them. One day they lost their meaning or their sense for us changed. Like they lost their souls, stopped talking to us.
Toys — what are they for us? Do we still keep them? Do we give them supernatural powers? Do we create or just collect them? How many toys have we saved from death? Are they trash or reminder, memory-holder?
I would like to introduce you to almost all aspects of toys’ social life with great help of my friends. We will show you artistic photos, prepared for this exhibition. You will meet some of our toys and their stores, and we will screen some more pictures of objects that objectify our identities.
We will take you on a trip to our childhood. You will meet there the children hidden in us. Will you let your hidden child to watch our exhibition? We encourage you to do so. Meet us during the conference in Lodz in July.

5th of July (Wednesday) — 2nd Conference Day, 16.15-17.00 (room T006)
